An afterthought of Eid vacation

‘Coz it’s a happy Eid to our Muslim brothers.

And for me; the only thing is burn.

The hottest month in a year, temperature ranging from 45-56 degree Celsius in the heart of KSA, Riyadh. However, it was one of the only two major long holidays in the kingdom. Even if heat is upon us, we usually go for outing to refresh and run away from the life of having a boss for once in a while. In the world of OFW, I always end with my boss and feel disappointed when;

Di ko matanggap
sa tuwing may napuna akong mali
ay inayos at tinuwid
ay sayo nama’y puot at galit.

Di ko maintindihan
sa tuwing humihingi ng suhestyon
ay pranela kung ilahad
ay sayo nama’y di kaakit-akit.

Di ko lubos maisip
sa tuwing ayaw mo ng mungkahi
ay sayo namaý walang pagpapasya
ay gawin ang nais na hindi akma.

Di ko masikmura
sa tuwing lalabas ang katotohanang kulang
ay dahil sayong paghulang pabokya
ay sa akin naman sinisisi.

Di na sana ako nag-isip
tanggapin ang lahat ng sinayawa
ay sana noo’koy di nakasalungguhit
ay balatkayong pluma sa iyong daliri.

Di na sana ako nag-isip
ng maiwasan ang mabagok sa inis
ay ang pag-eensayo sa salitang OO
ay alingawngaw ng aking sentido.

…and after having few arguments and no actions had been made. Don’t bother to ask me.

In life, particularly in food, specifically dessert like ice cream, no other else the number one in the world, what can i say? iduduyan ka sa sarap… feels like heaven…

Kaya wag ka ng magtanong
Häagen-Dazs Caramel Biscuit and Creams
hindi na kailangan pang mag-isip
Do not disturb. Slow melting in progress.

This is the moment, destination 1 >>> Red Sand.

Based on Ken testimony;

I had a wonderful time in Riyadh. I spent my Eid vacation there for about 3 days. It felt good to know that Riyadh, which was once a strange place to me, seemed to be a home away from home. And to tell you honestly, I am all the while feeling engrossed to be back there on my next ‘short-term’ vacation (short-term coz long-term means Philippines..hehe).

The people were awesome and they made me at home. The fact that we do speak the same language made me empirically at home, not to mention the accommodation they showed on me and of course, the jokes we shared. And for this, I wanna especially mention Melchie for really making me crack up and drool over the floor (exaggerated, maybe) for he really was more than funny.

The group—oh yes! The group of nice people who brought me to some nice places in Riyadh. I am having regrets of not going to Hidden Valley, though. But it’s okay, I know I do still have my next vacation to be there, and hopefully I will have more places to go to. Sandy and Rogel—the nice “couple” whom I embroiled their moments for I invaded their pad (sosyal) were fantastic. Floro and Rey were extra nice too. Floro patiently allowed me to sleep over his pad (sosyal again!) even if he knows that I’m also gonna be disturbing him. And I am glad to say that he didn’t make me feel that way. I was completely welcome in his place and I felt deeply sorry for constantly waking him up in the midst of his deep sleep. Rey, who is blessed with humility, was a nice bud too. Archie, who for me was funny too, amazed me with his love to Kent. Though for me it is admirable, I can’t hold myself to say that he has this atrocious feeling. I am giving him the slack though for he has the right to choose. Archie is a very well-versed person that I am looking forward to have more funny times with; maybe when I come back there. Franklin, the blogger, was tranquil and approachable. He’s not too loud but I know he has a strong personality. Jet was very generous. He let me use his internet connection during my stay there—I couldn’t repay him for the deed. Hopefully next time, I’ll have the same generosity from him..(wahahaha)…

To wrap it up, guys, you’re the best. You really made my vacation complete and worthwhile. To my bestfriend, Sandy, I am looking forward to spending much of my time with you when I go back there. We haven’t had much of our time to talk about things we haven’t talked about for almost 2 years now—like the good old days! Anyway, your chicken with tomato paste (I dunno exactly what was that..) was succulent. I hope to have more bottles of ‘red wine’ (hahaha, it tickles me to remember it) with Engr., Donald, Rey, Floro, Franklin, Sandy and Rogel. Archie and Melchie, I am hoping to have more Haagens Dazs slow melting moments with you next time.
